Editor

It’s times like these I wonder if, rather than being the guy who has to keep coming up with something fresh to read every day, I wouldn’t have made a better editor.
     The hours flow freely when I’m polishing up someone else’s work, curling their quotes and reformatting their paragraphs; but ask me for something new and watch each second stick. Instead, perhaps, I’ll just fix a few more typos, or maybe fiddle around with the punctuation. Or maybe I’ll be one of those editors, the scourge of authors everywhere, who dares rewrite their precious prose.
     Not that you’ve noticed.
