Blather, Bierce and Blogs

The clever, lamentably-forgotten Ambrose Bierce authored numerous books as well as the satirical reference book The Devil’s Dictionary, in which he defined “dictionary” as “a malevolent literary device for cramping the growth of a language and making it hard and inelastic. This dictionary, however, is a most useful work.”
The man had a touch which resonates still. So let us bring his perspective up to date. In the spirit of Bierce, consider the blogosphere. It is by and large vacuous and tedious. Who cares what people blah-blah-blah about. But my blog is comprised of must-read, cutting-edge wit and sparkling insight.
