ABC Gum

I’ve never been good with my girlfriend’s ex-boyfriends—not the prospect of actually meeting them, but the simple fact that she’s ever been with someone else before me. Perhaps it’s a form of retroactive jealousy, or how they taught us in Health that we’re effectively sleeping with every lover she’s ever had, but I think it might go back to that time in Grade Five when Maggie McClung (who’s probably had way too many boyfriends by now) offered me some of her candy.
     “Close your eyes,” she said, “and I’ll give you a piece of ABC Gum.”
     Already. Been. Chewed.

    Interesting. I only had trouble with one of my wife's exes, but it was the guy she went out with after we broke up and before we got together. But now that we've been married 13 years, I seriously don't even remember his name!

    Boy does that bring back grammer school days. I DO remember ABC gum..Yuk, even tried it a few times. I do remember my mom getting upset cause I put my ABC gum on my bed post...Why toss it when I could pop it in my mouth the next morning. HaHa...Good Story. My husband was so jealous of my ex-boyfriends I decided to burn my diaries before we got married...Bad mistake...I'm sure we'd laugh now at my teenage antics. Oh well. Been married to my honey 51 years so not to worry about ex's.

    Jalousy is something I don't know and why should I be jalous of somebody from the past ?? I don't know ABC bubble gum neither, anyway I hate chewing gums.
