Neil Armstrong

Claire told me Neil Armstrong would be visiting the office for a meeting and then told me not to come in, since I’m just freelance after all and really don’t have to come in, and in fact rarely do, except for the lunch on Wednesdays. And so I didn’t get my lunch this week, and I didn’t get to meet the most famous man on the planet.
     Claire said Neil Armstrong is sensitive about his fame and doesn’t like the attention.
     I said if he’s so sensitive about being the first man on the moon, perhaps he shouldn’t have gone.

    I agree with Roger, plus I think you're annoyed with the wrong person. Instead of saying Armstrong shouldn't have gone, why don't you say Claire shouldn't have told you he was coming and then told you not to come in?
    But, yes, I'm sure it would have been nice, for you, to meet him.

    He'll still be a household name until such time as someone gets their fingers out and starts exploring space properly again. (Yes, I know all the arguments about money and I suppose they are valid but it seems such a shame that the space programnme was stopped.)
